When some of us think of journaling, we often picture the stereotypical emotional young girl writing out her deepest most innermost feelings with a fluffy pink pen, writing in animated language the amazing qualities of her newfound secret crush, who likely has no idea she exists. Oftentimes, these entries begin in our heads with “Dear Diary.” Although this is how some people might keep a journal, this is not the kind of journaling I’m here to promote. During these last few years, journaling has deepened my prayer life in beautiful ways, and has been a great tool in helping me discover who I am created to be. So read on for the reasons that I love journaling, and you should too.
