This last weekend I was able to escape from the busy-ness of my everyday life to go camping at Lake Michigan, one of my favorite places on this earth. Something that always gets me about Lake Michigan is the beautiful horizon that seems to stretch forever and the amazing sunsets that fill the sky, displaying the Lord’s intricate artistry in the most breathtaking manner.
Another wonderful opportunity I had this week was to discuss and reflect on the book I Choose the Sky by Emily Wilson (which I definitely recommend). I have found her to be an amazing author who is so very relatable and inspiring. This is a great devotion about the women of the Bible, and how their stories can provide wisdom for our everyday lives. The purpose of this book is, through these stories, to show us how to look beyond ourselves in a world that tends to be focused on “me, myself, and I,” and the importance of “choosing the sky” in our own lives.
The Struggle is Real
